Pray for a Site

The Mesoamerica Region has identified 28 cities that are designated as Genesis sites.  Ask God to direct you in "adopting" a Genesis site to pray for every day.  Research the city on the internet and find out about it's people, their culture and their customs.  Seek to understand the urban issues with which they are dealing.  Here are a few requests that can generally be prayed for ALL urban centers to get you started:

  • Pray for broken FAMILIES to find restoration.

  • Pray for SINGLE PARENT homes as they raise children without much support.

  • Pray for the protection of CHILDREN exposed to domestic violence.

  • Pray for GANG ACTIVITY to come to an end.

  • Pray for YOUNG ADULTS who are addicted to drugs.

  • Pray for LOST PEOPLE to come to know the Lord.

Pray for Missionaries

The Mesoamerica Region will deploy 112 volunteer Genesis missionaries starting in 2014 and ending in 2020.  Become familiar with the missionaries and their stories.  Ask the Lord how you can impact the life of a specific missionary and be aware of their ministry. Pray directly according to their needs.  To get you started, here are a few requests that can generally be prayed for ALL missionaries:

  • Protection from Satan’s attacks on their faith and calling, TEMPTING them to quit and go home.

  • Protect them from getting so busy doing things for God that they forget to SIT AND LISTEN to Him.

  • Protect them from divisiveness, CRITICISM and crankiness with each other.

  • Protect their UNITY in Christ, their love for each other, their commitment to each other.

  • Protect them from conflicts with LOCAL BELIEVERS and NATIONAL CHURCH LEADERS.

  • Protect them from MISINTERPRETING each other’s motives.

  • Unity in Christ among missionaries and believers is so important because unbelievers watch them. Pray that they can see and GRASP THE GOOD NEWS that God loves them so much that He sent Jesus to this world.

Pray for New Pastors and New Believers

The result of missionary work and effort will be displayed in the lives of people that accept the salvation offered through Jesus Christ and the commitment to grow in their new faith through discipleship.  Begin to pray that God will prepare the way for the missionary work in each site, speaking to hearts of people even before a missionary would come into contact with them.  Each cell group will need to have  a strong leader among them that can be trained as the pastor of a new congregation - many times this pastor will be among the new converts!  Pray that God calls hundreds of pastors to shepherd the new congregations in the Mesoamerica Region.  Here are a few requests that can be prayed for ALL new believers and new pastors:

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit would be STIRRING THE HEARTS of people in the community, that they would be actively looking for a church to minister to their needs.

  • ray that 1 home in each target neighborhood would OPEN THEIR DOORS to a weekly Bible study.

  • Pray for TRANSFORMATION of lives that results in hope within the community.

  • Pray for new PASTORS to hear and respond to the call of God on their lives.

  • Pray for new pastors to have NEW VISION for reaching their own community.

  • Pray for WISDOM for new pastors to shepherd a new CONGREGATION.

  • Pray for new believers to have a passion for sharing the gospel, resulting in DISCIPLES MAKING DISCIPLES.
